Back

I am back again for another NY Giants football season.
We have had some key signings including
S Rolle
LB Bulluck
And other signings.

But it looks like the injury bug has hit us again.
WR Hixon is out for the year.
G Suebert broke his hand
WR Nicks hyper extended his knee
WR Smith has a groin injury.

Hopefully they will be ready for the start of the season (other than Hixon)

Some things to look for this pre-season.
1. Is Keith Bulluck really able to contribute as a MLB after having a that horrible injury?

2. Can the running backs and both D/O Lines get back to top form.

3. Can some key rookies such as DE Jason Pierre Paul and DT Linval Joseph help the team?

4. Is Antrel Rolle really a top Safety in the NFL

5. Can Eli get better again this year?

5 BOLD predictions

1. Nicks will make the pro bowl.

2. Eli will be a top 5 quarterback this season.

3. Giants will make the playoffs.

4. The defense will be a top 10 defense again.

5. Jerry Reese and Tom Coughlin will be fired if they do not make the playoffs this season.

Post comments and keep looking for any more updates!

Alright I guess I'll do this every Friday.. or Wednesday, since now we have Thursday night games. I will predict the outcome for all the games in the NFL. Starting with.

Lions vs Browns. I guess this is the battle of the bad teams this week. I believe Lions will win, simply because they have Calvin Johnson. I do not think anyone on the Browns can hold him. Not saying it is a blow out, low scoring game.
10-3 Lions.

Packers vs 49ers Boy isn't this a tough game. Packers win against the cowboys. I like the Packers in this match up simply because they have the momentum, they beat somebody everybody doubted them to beat. Of course the 49ers' defense destroyed the Bears offense Thursday. I'm not buying the 49ers' offense.
Packers win 17-10

Steelers vs Chiefs Easy pick here, the Chiefs are not as good as the Steelers in any way. I'm going with the blow out 35-10 Like above.
Steelers win 35-10.

Vikings vs Seahawks. I guess another easy pick game. Vikings will dominate the steelers in every way. Running game, passing game, defense.
42-7 Vikings.

Giants vs Falcons Everybody knows who I will pick. But with good reason, the Falcons are without star running back Michael Turner. And backup running back Jerious Norwood also is most likely out. So they need they are without there top two running backs. And Matt Ryan has not been the Matt Ryan of last year. Giants win 28-14

Saints vs Buccaneers
Another easy pick, we all now Saints will win. Saints offense is really unstoppable. But Saints are shaky these last couple of weeks.
Saints win 31-10.

Jaguars vs Bills
I don't think any defense can hold Maurice Jones Drew.
Jags win 28-14.

Colts vs Ravens
I don't think the ravens will be able to cover the Colts Wide Receivers. Colts defense can hold Ray Rice and Flaco.
Colts win 42-17

Cardinals vs Rams
To many easy picks this week. The Cardinals like (almost) every team will be the Rams.
Cardinals win 35-7

Chargers vs Broncos
I like the Charges in this one. The Broncos looked like they collapsed losing 3 straight! While the Chargers are turned on winning 4 straight!
Chargers win 27-10

Bengals vs Raiders
Wow.. to much easy picks. The Bengals I believe will torch the Raiders secondary. Also they will run it all over them. Don't even get me started on the Bengals D. At least we get to see Gradowski! And Larry Johnson.
Bengals win 42-10

Patriots vs Jets
I am torn here, NY pride or common sense. I am a NY football team fan, and I will always choose my teams to win. Even if someone like the Jets are going up against someone like the Patriots. There is no reason why the Jets will win, just a gut feeling.
Jets win 24-17

Eagles vs Chicago
I don't want Phili to win but they will. The Eagles offense will just destroy the Bears secondary. And Cutler coming off a 5 interception performance, I don't think he'll do any better.
Eagles win 31-17

Texans vs Titans
I think the Texans can beat the Titans. I believe they will stop RB Chris Johnson and ANDRE Johnson will have the big day.
Texans win it close 24-17

***********UPSET OF THE WEEK**************
Redskins OVER Cowboys.
The REDSKINS just beat the BRONCOS. Who have been in a bit of a slump. I believe that the redskins can carry over the momentum and win. The cowboys just lost to the Packers and are feeling to confident. It is getting close to December and Tony Romo is already showing signs that he will do bad AGAIN in december.
17-7 Redskins

NOTE*** The Jets Patriots upset is not the upset of the week due to the Jets already beating the Patriots. (Yes I know the Pats DID Not have Wes Welker but a win is a win)

Giants-Falcons Injury Report.

GIANTS
Player Injury 11/18 11/19 11/20
RB Ahmad Bradshaw Ankle/Foot DNP
CB Aaron Ross Hamstring LP

FALCONS
Player Injury 11/18 11/19 11/20
S Erik Coleman Knee DNP
WR Brian Finneran Knee DNP
RB Jerious Norwood Hip DNP
RB Michael Turner Ankle DNP
WR Roddy White Knee DNP
T Sam Baker Ankle LP

Players to Watch. Week 11- Giants.

Here are my top 10 players to watch against the falcons.

DB Aaron Ross- If he plays he could be a big factor. He might be rusty, and only play in some Nickel Forms but getting him back will be a big step foward.

QB Eli Manning- Eli Manning STILL resting a foot injury, looks like he was great against San Diego. Let's see how he plays because now he is fully rested

DT- Chris Canty- Played some downs and caused some pressure, now healthy he could be a great addition to this defensive linemen rotation.

DE Justin Tuck- Resting shoulder Injuries this week look's like he will be fully healthy. Expect him to be fully fresh and I believe he will cause pressure on the Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan.

DE Ositadinma (Osi) Umenyiora (I did spell his name right for the first time). He is the sack leader coming off knee surgery and has 3 forced fumbles. Now he is rested I think he will be a key contributer.

OLB Michael Boley- Being benched and released by the Atlanta Falcons expect Boley to play with a extra kick.

HB Brandon Jacobs- Facing a weak Run defense Jacobs could finally have his breakout game, if the Giants hand him the ball.

HB Danny Ware- Could finally get over 2 carries, he will contribute well this game.

My 10th person to watch is a weird one,

DB Corey Webster
After being torched in SD look for him to have his comeback game.

I believe Ware will have a big impact,

As you know, the Giants running game has not been as effective as it was last year. That is because the loss of Tampa Bay Buccaneers HB Derrick Ward has hurt the Giants. To make up for Derrick Ward the Giants drafted HB Andre Brown, who was put on IR. We Resort to Danny Ware who I think will be a stud. He was injured with a broken elbow on the first kick return of the season. The Giants were resorting to using a two back system, which Giants are not used to. Of course we like HB Ahmad Bradshaw and how he stepped up from last year. But don't you think that HB Brandon Jacobs and Ahmad Bradshaw would have a little fatigue? Danny Ware is a great change up back who could catch the ball. Someone like Derrick Ward.

Danny Ware was pretty good these last two pre-seasons and I am so happy to see this guy have his chance.

Aaron Ross is feeling "really good".

"
Aaron Ross jogged into the locker room, got in front of his stall and leaped into the air a couple of times. Was that his way of showing his injured hamstring is feeling much better?
“Nah,” the Giants’ cornerback said with a smile after practicing in a limited capacity Wednesday. “Just happy. Just happy.”
That’s a good sign for two reasons: Ross has struggled to keep his spirits up over the past two years, especially while going through a long, frustrating rehab since training camp, and he must be feeling good enough to be on track to play in Sunday’s game against the Falcons. If so, it would be his season debut.
But before he makes it onto the playing field, Ross must stay on the practice field.

“We’re just kind of bringing him along, giving him more opportunities and trying to take off the straps and any kind of limitations that are there,” coach Tom Coughlin said. “It’s his job to prove to us that there are no limitations.”
And why not? The last two times Ross attempted a comeback, he suffered an additional strain to his hamstring. So far, the third time has been the charm, as he’s practiced three times without aggravating the injury. And Wednesday, he was begging for more reps.
“They’re doing a great job of holding me back so I don’t hurt myself,” Ross said, adding: “Last Wednesday, I felt really rusty, Monday I felt good and (Wednesday) I felt really good.”
It remains to be seen if Ross will immediately resume his starting role, though it seems more likely he’ll be limited to the nickel and dime packages for now while Terrell Thomas remains a starter opposite Corey Webster. But for a team needing a jolt, the return of Ross and the energy he’ll bring will be welcome.
“I have about three months saved up in me,” Ross said"

Giants Bye Week gone, time for Falcons.

The Giants are now 5-4 losing to the Chargers in a heart breaker. But they are still 2nd in the NFC East enjoying a bye week. The Eagles lost to the Chargers and Cowboys lost to the Packers. Now the Giants are one game behind 1st place in the NFC EAST. The Giants are now going to face the Atlanta Falcons, who might be without star running back Michael Turner. Michael Turner suffered a ankle sprain against the Carolina Panthers.

If the Giants want to make the playoffs, this is a must win game in my opinion. If we beat the Falcons and the cowboys lose, who face the Washington Redskins, we could be first in the NFC East. And if the Eagles lose who face the bears we would have a good lead in the division. Anyway let's go to why I think the Giants win the game, and how they do it.

WHY
- The Giants are rested up and ready to go, while the Falcons are coming off a loss to a struggling Carolina Panthers. Of course the Panthers have been playing good as of late, a loss is a loss.

- The Giants are finally healthy getting Chris Canty (DT) Michael Boley (OLB) and Aaron Ross(DB) back on the field. Michael Boley and Chris Canty saw limited action against the chargers last week. But I expect them to have a big impact since now they are fully healthy. Aaron Ross was injured for the pre-season and the regular season, finally coming back. We'll see how much of a impact he makes. It will help I believe since the Giants passing defense is struggling.

-The Giants have momentum, seeing the Eagles and Cowboys lose the Giants now they need to take advantage of this situation. Expect the Giants to play tough.

-Michael Boley will want to make the Falcons pay for not re-signing him, and for benching him early in the season. Expect Boley to play rough and tough and have a extra kick.

HOW
-The Giants will blitz and focus on the pass game as the starting two running backs for the Falcons will MOST LIKELY be out. Expect the Giants to blitz Falcons (QB)Matt Ryan how has had a bit of a sophomore slump, and has been throwing interceptions regularly when blitzed. Maybe with Aaron Ross playing safety or moving Terrell Thomas (DB) back to a nickel cornerback the Giants can now blitz and have good pass coverage. Matt Ryan has 14 touchdown passes and 12 interceptions. He has a QB Rating of 78.8.

-The Giants defense is 1st in Total Yards per game giving up 274.4 yards per game. Many people are saying that is only because the (P) Jeff Feagles has given great field position for the other teams.

-The Giants are 5th in the league in Total offense yards per game. While the Atlanta falcons defense is 25th in the league in total defense yards per game. Stats do not lie.

-The Giants are 14th in the league in passing yards per game. Eli Manning is hot (not looks), and this even better the Falcons are, 28TH!! Yes 28th in passing yards per game defense.

-Lastly for the Giants Offense Falcons Defense comparison the Giants are 7th in Rushing yards per game, but I think the Giants need to indeed run in this game and control the TOP to win.
The Falcons defense is 26th in rushing defense.
-----
The Giants need to run the ball, and control the time of possession on offense and have no turnovers, and on defense sack the quarterback and cause turnovers.

Thanks for reading guys so you Sunday for my recap of the Falcons game.
